Evgeny Fedorov (Los Angeles Kings): The last time I scored two goals was two years ago!

2006 Russian Super LeagueConsidering that there are so many people in the hockey world with your last name; don't you have any difficulties of people mistaking you for another person?
E. Fedorov: Actually, no. Only the young hockey fans ask me sometimes if I'm related to the Fedorov brothers.

Was your trade from Ak Bars to Dynamo a surprise?
E. Fedorov:
I wouldn't say so. Actually, player trades rarely end up being a surprise. In my case everything was very simple: during the last regular season Vladimir Krikunov (Dynamo's head coach) called me and invited to Moscow. I agreed right away.

What production are you expecting from yourself this season with the current level of ice time?
E. Fedorov: It's hard to say. If I keep playing on the power play and the shorthanded squads, as well as during overtime, then I should fulfill the coach's trust hundred percent.

What will you use as the basis for measuring this seaosn's results when comparing it to your past performances?
E. Fedorov: The largest number of goals in one season for me has been ten. Last season I scored only four goals. However, I wasn't receiving a lot of ice-time - approximately six minutes per game. I don't want to guess how many goals I will score this season. I also don't want to think that all of my goals have already been scored.

When was the last time you scored two goals in one game?
E. Fedorov:
During my second season with Ak Bars I scored two goals against Neftekhimik. Regarding today's two goals, in some way I got lucky, both times I scored off rebounds. I just got the puck and shot it in the empty net.

How do you find it playing with Sushinsky on the same line?
E. Fedorov:
It is amazing playing with Maxim. Every time I get the puck, I know that my line mate is wide opened and I can pass his the puck. It also works the other way, when I get open I expect a pass from him at any moment.
