Roman, would you have a few minutes for brief interview?
R. Voloshenko:
Of course, please! What would like to know?

Roman, when did you come to North America?
R. Voloshenko: I came in August,05 prior training camp with my team Minnesota. I rent ice time by myself to get in better shape, then work out with Wild's rookies. After that was main training camp with the team. I really like the atmosphere in a team. It was very encouraging. I played two exhibition games, that was real fun!

What happened then?
R. Voloshenko: Coach told me that he's pleased with my attitude and performance. However I had to go to Minnesota farm team, Houston Aeros.

Were you dissapointed?
R. Voloshenko: No, not really. Coach in the farm club put me on the first line right away, and I had lots of ice time. I really like it down there.

What you like there the most?
R. Voloshenko:
The loud fans. We have on average 8,000 people per game. Very often we have a full house of 13,000. They are very loud. For me as a hockey player its so enjoyable to play in front of huge cheering crowd.

How do you like smaller rink?
R. Voloshenko: For me personally, I like it a lot. It is more physical, lots more action, and most importantly, from my point of view, a lot more entertaining for the fans.

Roman, tell me please how important for you to play for the Russian National team?
R. Voloshenko: (gets very serious) It is a very big honor and privilege to play for my homeland. I'm very proud to represent my country in such an important event. Before each and every game in the dressing room we're always reminding ourselves that we're playing for mother Russia.

What is your goal in this tournament.
R. Voloshenko: Gold and only gold. Nothing less!!!

Last question Roman.
R. Voloshenko: (interupts smiling) Why? I can answer more.

What would you like to do in your spare time in Houston.
R. Voloshenko: First of all, I don't have much spare time, but when I do I like to go to the near by outdoor swimming pool, and just relax. My agent did a really good job to find me great accommodation and really helped to take care of all my everyday needs.

Thank you and good luck!!!
R. Voloshenko: Spasibo! Any time!
