U18 Four Nations Tournament (Nov. 10th - Nov. 12th; Slovakia)
Russian Player Pefromance Evaluations Part 3: Igor Zubov, Stanislav Galimov, and Yakov Seleznev

Igor Zubov, D (2006 NHL Entry Draft)
Most productive defenseman of the tournament (3 points) .. registered a decent start into the tournament in the opener against Germany .. wasn't tested by many offensive chances of the opponent and held his own adequately well .. showed solid skating skills and mobility .. took on a more offensive role after his partner Vasily Vinogradov stepped down with an injury .. didn't stand out in the second game against Czech Republic, but could keep the faster opponents under control and regularly supported the offense .. occassionally showed a tenacious style before fading physically on other shifts .. a decent all-round factor also in the final matchup against Slovakia, but hardly stood out with the assets of his play

Stanislav Galimov, G (2006 NHL Entry Draft)
Saw playing action in the third period of the opening game against Germany when it was already decided about the Russian win .. wasn't tested by many quality chances and made efficient saves on the opposing shots .. started the third Russian game against Slovakia after serving as the backup during the second matchup against Czech Republic .. registered a solid performance and helped the Russian team snatch the victory .. looked poised and confident between the pipes, but allowed one soft goal through his five-hole .. could spread confidence among the defensemen with calm saves .. filled his role without problems and served as a dependable backup.

Yakov Seleznev, D (2007 NHL Entry Draft)
The underager started on the first defensive pairing but wandered down the roster as the tournament went on due to a pair of uninspiring showings which sent him down to the fourth line .. focused on playing his usual defensive style but was hampered by a lack of mobility and slower thinking of the developing plays .. registered a slow start into the opening game against Germany and couldn't catch up to the pace all game long .. the flashier Czech forwards could give him tough times during the second game .. couldn't make proper use of his size tools as most opponents avoided his attempts to hit hard .. offensive support turned out to be a regular issue .. played a limited role in the third game against Slovakia .. didn't make any glaring mistakes, but hardly impressed with his play in this game.
