16/04/2010 Prospects make Russian National Team

Sr. World Championships -  Many prospects made the roster for the two friendly matches Team Russia will play in Italy on April 23rd and 24th. Vasily Koshechkin (Tampa Bay Lightning), Anton Khudobin (Minnesota Wild) and Sergei Bobrovsky are the goalies, with Khudobin most likely as starter. On the blue line Dmitry Kulikov (Florida Panthers) will make his first appearence, and will be joined by Vitaly Atyushov, Konstantin Korneev (Montreal Canadiens), Denis Kulyash (Nashville Predators), Evgeny Biryukov, Denis Denisov (Buffalo Sabres), Dmitri Vorobiev (Toronto Maple Leafs), Evgeny Ryasensky and Nikolai Belov. The forwards corps will be led by NHLers Maxim Afinogenov (Buffalo Sabres), Evgeny Artyukhin (Atlanta Thrashers), Artem Anisimov (New York Rangers) and Nikolai Kulemin (Toronto Maple Leafs). First call for Vladimir Tarasenko and Nikita Filatov (Columbus Blue Jackets). Other players are Konstantin Gorovikov, Denis Parshin (Colorado Avalanche), Maxim Rybin , Evgeny Skachkov (St. Louis Blues), Anton Krysanov (Phoenix Coyotes), Mikhail Varnakov , Alexander Svitov (Columbus Blue Jackets) and Oleg Saprykin (Ottawa Senators).

Continental Hockey League (KHL) -  We have updated the statistics to include the games that took place on January 5th. Alexei Morozov (Pittsburgh Penguins) and Sergei Mozyakin (Columbus Blue Jackets) continue to lead the league in points, while Konstantin Glazachev (Nashville Predators) continues to perform well, averaging more than a point as a leader of Barys (Astana). Evgeny Skachkov (St. Louis Blues) is another up and coming prospect who is performing well for the third season in the row. READ MORE
03/09/2007 Round 57 - Goalie Semen Varlamov (Washington Capitals) wins again

Russian Super League -  Goalie Semen Varlamov (Washington Capitals) played very well for HC Lokomotiv, stopping 24 of 26 faced shots, and helping the club defeat HC Severstal despite the contest being up in the air for more than 30 minutes. Evgeny Skachkov (St. Louis Blues) scored his 12th of the season, helping HC Traktor to leave the field with a valuable point. Albert Vishnyakov (Tampa Bay Lightning) and Denis Parshin (Colorado Avalanche) continued to gain form in time for playoffs, with two forwards scoring 9th and 18th goals respectively in the contest eventually lost by Vyshnyakov’s HC Dynamo. In amounted to a 17:1 trouncing, HC Avangard closed the book on lowly Krilia Sovetov, which largely fielded the club’s farm team in this contest. READ MORE
