2006 NHL ENTRY DRAFT
Rank 1: #20
Rank 2: #14 Ranking Comments:Over the past six months Igor Antosik has filled out his 6'3 frame and has also improved his skating. He is third in scoring with Kapitan Stupino in the High League, despite skating on the fourth line. There are no rifts with the coach, in fact the coach has praised Antosik on several occasions. Still, he skates on the fourth line because the young forward is on loan with the club from Dynamo and that usually means he holds less priority than the players signed directly to Stupino.
Rank 3: #16 Ranking Comments:Igor Antosik made his professional debut on HC Kapitan (Stupino), the same club with Alexeii Sopin. The young center developed into a face off specialist and has been able to put together a relatively productive season despite skating on the fourth line for most of the time. It is some cause for concern that Antosik has not been able to secure a higher spot in the lineup of such a week High League (Russia 2) club, but a lot likely had to do with his age and his "loaner" status, rather than his skill level. He remains one of the top Russian 87 born players available, but despite his potential, a lot will depend on his ability to return to Dynamo and make an impact in 2006. Reminding of Andrei Nikolishin in his blue collar approach to the game and his strength at the face-off circle, we believe Antosik is amongst the top 20 Russian players eligible for the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.

Talent Analysis:
Scout 1: an average skater...needs to develop a better first-step quickness and agility...solid balance on his skates...good vision and creativity with the puck...knows how to use his line mates...decent puck handling skills, but could use softer hands...adequate wrist shot, slap shot could use more accuracy...above-average defensive awareness...shuts down the opposing players effectively...a diligent player in the corner battles, where he takes advantage of his size...should hit the opposing players more often...average in the face-off circle.
Scout 2: A good two-way center... similar in playing style to another prospect Krysanov... very effective defensively and is willing to fight for the puck
Back In Russia:
Igor Antosik is a product of Moscow Dynamo’s farm system. During the past couple of seasons he has become one of the more gritty forwards on the Russian national team. He has consistently held a spot on Russia’s 87 squad since it’s inception. With Dynamo 87, Antosik usually centers the second line with Alexei Sopin on his right wing and a number of young players alternating on his left wing, including Zharkov, Kucheryavenko, Nikolayev, Shorikov and Savelyev. Please find the scouting reviews of Antosik’s performance at various international tournaments in the "Scouting Evaluations" section at the top of the profile.
NHL Outlook:
Antosik’s size and grit makes his a very attractible prospect to the NHL scouts. The young forward has been very effective at centering
