03/18/2008 Darius Kasparaitis seriously injures Konstantin Rudenko (Philadelphia Flyers)

Super League -  Darius Kasparaitis (New York Rangers) seriously injured Lokomotiv forward Konstantin Rudenko (Philadelphia Flyers) during the third games of the Super League quarterfinals between HC SKA and Lokomotiv. The young forward collided with Kasparaitis, who appeared to have raised his shoulder to hit Rudenko in the head. The result was a broken jaw and a concussion for Rudenko, who needed help to be carried off the ice. He is out of hockey for at least 6 weeks and will not be able to talk until after the surgery, will should take place later this week.

10/26/2007 Darius Kasparaitis (New York Rangers) returns to Russia

Super League -  Darius Kasparaitis (New York Rangers) has returned to Russia for at least the 2007-08 season. The NHL veteran struggled to earn ice time last year with the New York Rangers, reportedly due to a depression stemming from a divorce. He has now signed a one year deal with HC SKA (St. Petersburg) in Russia’s Super League.
