| Russia calls up Tulupov (New Jersey Devils), Ruslan Bashkirov (Ottawa Senators) and Tikhonov
Sergei Nemchinov announced that Team Russia called up three players to replace inured Egor Averin and Alexei Cherepanov (New York Rangers). The three players are Kirill Tulupov (New Jersey Devils), Ruslan Bashkirov (Ottawa Senators) and Viktor Tikhonov . Tikhonov and Tulupov were in the original training camp, while Bashkirov was not on the initial list. Tikhonov is the grandson of legendary Soviet and Red Army coach with the same first name. The next contest takes place today in Omsk at the brand new hockey arena built this summer for the local Super League club. | | 08/30/2007
| Russia loses Alexei Cherepanov (New York Rangers) and Egor Averin to concussions
Russia lost Alexei Cherepanov (New York Rangers) in the second game and Egor Averin in the first game to concussions. Both players are believed to be lost for the entire tournament. “It was unfortunate that with a check in the back, which I didn’t even see, I was bounced in the very first game. Now I will have to miss not less than two weeks. I will have to watch such a great game from the stands in my own home town” said disappointed Averin to a Sport Express correspondent. | | 06/24/2007
| Russia announces preliminary U20 roster 1972 anniversary tournament
The Russian National Team coaching staff has announced the preliminary roster
of Russia’s U20 national team that will compete in the eight matches of
the Super Series against Canadian teams as part of the 35th anniversary celebrations
since the 1972 Super Series between Soviet and NHL hockey stars.

| Russia's U18 roster announced - Cherepanov leads the way
U18 World Junior Championships - Russian U18 national team coaching staff announced the squad’s preliminary
roster that will compete at the U18 World Junior Championships. The lineup will
be finalized prior to April 12th. The roster included the following players:
