U21 Russian Junior League (MHL) -  Alessandro Seren Rosso of russianprospects.com presents the rest of the prospects to watch in the MHL Western Conference. Some of the mentioned players are Georgi Berdyukov, Sergei Chvanov and Daniil Sobchenko (MHL Hockey article by Alessandro Seren Rosso) READ MORE
Talent Analysis:
A playmaking center with a knack on passing game...solid skating, has to work on speed...good stability...can take hits and physical play thanks to his size...excellent vision and reading of the play...can pass the puck to any player on the rink...tries hard on defense...doesn't shy away from physical play...has to work on his shot, both slap and wrist...a reliable center who can get with ease on the scoresheet...
Back In Russia:
A native of Kiev, Ukrain, Sobchenko moved to Russia at 10 and got graduated at the productive Lokomotiv hockey school. He had an excellent couple of seasons with Lokomotiv's junior farm team and he earned a lineup spot in 2009-10 Lokomotiv KHL team. Has scored his first KHL goal on 2009 October 1st against Barys Astana.
NHL Outlook:
Danil Sobchenko is a very talented player who hasn't earned much consideration because of his lack of play with the national team, due to a conflict with U18 National team coach Vladimir Plyuschev. Considering that Plyuschev has now moved up to the U20 squad, unfortunately it looks that Sobchenko won't get much attention this season too, but surely his KHL performances are worth of attention.
