12/06/2007 Team Russia vs. WHL Selects Game 6 detailed scouting analysis

After the big victory in the fifth game, Russians challenge WHL selection in the sixth and last game of the series. As usual Nemchinov swapped goalies and put Gayduchenko in, leaving Galimov on the bench. 12/04/2007 Team Russia vs. WHL Selects Game 5 detailed scouting analysis

After the two defeats against OHL stars, Russians challenge WHL selection in the fifth game of the series. The game starts easy for the Russians as they got a three goals lead in the first twenty minutes of play, with the goals by Sayustov, Polukhin and Golubtsov. Team WHL looked for the whole game inferior to both QMJHL and OHL selections, never being a real threat for Nemchinov’s guys. After the convincing win in the first game, Russia got a shootout loss in the second match against the Quebec Selects, who were led by Bernier, Marchant and Giroux, players who already dominated the September’s Super Series. This time the starting goaltender was Sergei Gaiduchenko (Florida Panthers) instead of Stanislav Galimov , who played quite well in the first game even if he let in four pucks. 11/29/2007 Russians romp to ADT Challenge win

Vadim Golubtsov scored two goals, including a powerplay marker in the third period to lead the Russian Selects to a 5-1 win over the Western Hockey league in Game 5 of the ADT Canada-Russia Challenge in Cranbrook, B.C. on Wednesday. Dmitry Sayustov opened the scoring midway through the first period with Golubtsov and Alexander Polukhin also counting before the first period was over. READ MORE

Sudbury, ON - Shawn Matthias of the Belleville Bulls scored a goal and an assist to lead the Ontario Hockey League to a 4-2 win over Russia in Game 4 of the ADT Canada-Russia Challenge on Monday. John Tavares of the Oshawa Generals opened the scoring just under four minutes into the game before Vadim Golubtsov replied for Russia while shorthanded midway through the first period. READ MORE

11/24/2007 OHL stars rally for ADT Challenge win

Dale Mitchell of the Oshawa Generals and Nick Spaling of the Kitchener Rangers scored third period goals 27 seconds apart to lift the Ontario Hockey League to a 5-3 come-from-behind win over Russia in Game 3 of the ADT Canada-Russia Challenge in Kitchener, Ontario on Thursday. Wayne Simmonds of the Owen Sound Attack, Josh Bailey of the Windsor Spitfires and Cory Emmerton of the Kingston Frontenacs also scored for the OHL while league scoring leader John Tavares of the Oshawa Generals was the OHL’s player of the game after chipping in three assists in the win. 11/23/2007 Quebec evens ADT Challenge with shootout win

After dropping the opening game if the ADT Canada-Russia Challenge on Monday, Brad Marchand was determined not to let it happen again. The Val-d’Or Foreurs sniper scored one goal in regulation and the winner in the shootout to pace the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League to a 3-2 win over the Russian Selects in Game 2 of the series on Wednesday in Gatineau. 11/22/2007 Russians rally for win in ADT Challenge opener

The Russians promised to ice a competitive team in this year’s edition of the ADT Canada-Russia Challenge and on Monday, they struck first, claiming a 6-4 win over the QMJHL in Chicoutimi, Quebec. Mikhail Milekhin scored a pair of goals and added an assist and Nikolay Okhlobystin chipped in with a goal and an assist to pace Russians to their first win in the series since 2004. 11/22/2007 Russia comes to Canada for the ADT Challenge

U20 Team Russia comes once again to Canada for the ADT Canada Russia Challenge. While Russia has not enjoyed much success in the tournament thus far over the past few seasons, the team was beaten quite badly this past June in the Super Series and is clearly coming back with a lot of motivation. This motivation will be key, since the squad will be missing some of the top stars, who are busy playing in the Super League.
