Jersey Description: Vancouver Canucks defensive prospect Kirill Koltsov wore this #4 Avangard Omsk home jersey during the 2005-06 season that he spent in the Russian Super League. The young defenseman was raised in the Avangard hockey system and is widely recognized as the most offensively gifted blue liner skating outside the NHL. Koltsov has consistently been a member of Russia’s national team and a top pairing defenseman with HC Avangard. The jersey features ads of SibirNeft, an oil company that is the sole sponsor of the Super League club and is owned by Mr. Abramovich, who also owns British soccer/football club Chelsea which one the European Championship a few years back. The jersey also features Soyuz Vikant ads on the shoulders. This is the same company that has recently sponsored Russia’s national team. The jersey is manufactured by Kait and is made of a high quality, durable mesh, and includes Nike type innovations, such meshed armpits for circulation. It shows heavy wear with a number of marks on the body and the sleeves, as can be seen in the photos. Kiril Koltsov also modified the jersey by bunching up the bottom hem of the jersey, as is displayed in the photograph below.
